And now, the entertainment conglomerate has been granted its own patent for official PS5 faceplates.Īccording to GameSpot, the patent is listed as a “Cover for Electronic Device” and comes paired with a few mock-up sketches of the PlayStation 5. Having played all the infamous games including first light, the first two are miles above Second Son and First Light - however of those two, Second Son is the better choice imo. Sony, for the most part, legally brought an end to those competitors. Once the next-gen console launched, third-party companies began producing different colored faceplates, with black being one of the most popular options on the market. In contrast, other consumers were not as impressed, namely in regards to the white faceplates. On one end of the spectrum, PlayStation fans were excited about the new futuristic, sleek look. When the PlayStation 5 was first revealed last year, the console design was polarizing. ![]()
